Dear Campers,
Thank you so much for participating in the Jennie Finch Softball Camp. I hope you leave camp with many new skills to help you on and off the field; that you've had an experience of a lifetime, learned a lot, and had a bunch of fun! Thank you for your excitement and eagerness to become better players and people.
It feels like yesterday I was in your cleats playing travelball, dreaming of playing college ball and becoming an Olympian. With great support from my family, friends, coaches, hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and the grace of God, I've been blessed to experience all of these things. I am truly living a dream, playing the game I love as my job!
You are blessed to live in a time that offers girls and women so many opportunities in sports, the work place, and life. It has not always been this way and there is still a long way to go. Take full advantage of all the opportunities before you. In addition, I hope you carry on the torch , continuing to break down barriers, loving what you do, and by being your best.
Be and do your best! If you always give your best effort you will have no regrets! Life and softball will not always be easy. You will face struggles, doubts, conflicts, and disappointment. The key, however, is to learn from those struggles and move on, living each day to the fullest. Use those times of doubt and conflict to make you a better player and person. You can't appreciate victory without knowing defeat.
Thank you for the opportunity to meet and interact with you! I hope you have enjoyed this experience as much as I have! I wish you all the best on and off the field and in the game of life.
